Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code domain name extension is quite popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming creative and appealing domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to share it with associates and acquaintances. As .IT domains are not registered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administers this extension, such a domain can be reserved through a 3rd-party company, such as ours. As there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various areas and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
